The story of Mittzi is in this book, written by a Viennese woman I also admire. The author has three volumes on these Nazi women, a subject that much interests me.

Apropos Nazi women, the letters of Marga Himmler are now on line, along with those of the paramour Heini H. Haeschen Potthast.
It makes for compelling reading and more edifying than reality television or fussing about "crimped prongs" which in German were called "Splinten."
Heinrich Himmlers Briefe - Die Handschrift des Massenmörders - DIE WELT
I must find that book and order it, sounds like a great read.
The story of Reiter and Hitler is intriguing. Seeing them together like that is also pretty interesting.
Best regards, Patrick
Patrick, we do our best here to raise the level as much as possible, since so many others fling us into the dung each hour with total boredom and images of the same, dumb fakes held in gritty, fleshy mitts with the hyperventilating tweet: "Is it real?"

Speaking of which, this upcoming title on the Himmlers' correspondence will be of interest:
Katrin Himmler, Michael Wildt | Himmler privat
(Katrin Himmler, one of the two authors, being Heinrich's grand-niece and the author of the previous collective biography of the three Himmler brothers.)
My copy is already pre-ordered, natch.
Thank you for the link to Die Welt's piece on the recently discovered letters. Although a small struggle to read for me, it appears to be a nicely crafted article. The first chapter caught me immediately with the words of his then twelve year old daughter:
"Russland ist doch sooo groß, wenn wir ganz Russland einnehmen, der Kampf wird sehr schwer sein"
She also commented on the betrayal of an ally, a thought and fear that, I'm certain, many shared.
The Die Welt site is also in English. All the material is translated.
Dear Andreas, thanks for the hint. I am grounded and deprived of my normal book stores. I will have to secure it by indirect means.
I have not been to Berlin since September 2012, since the Dienstherr put us all under house arrest, as it were.
Isolationism by other means.
Thanks and you are a champ.
Thank you, I did not know. I have a talent for doing things the hard way.
