    I have done some forum search for the Standarte 89 and came across this thread. I will bring the thread back
    maybe someone will have an opinion on the items as it will be also interesting for me as a novice

    Sorry that this one went un-answered in the first place.

    I don't like either item. In fact, I think they were made by the same hand? Look at the shape of the number "9". The one on the tab is really badly executed as well.

    I share Adrian's doubts. Early SS insignia, however, was hardly standardized. Nor was such openly worn in Ausrtria after the banning of the NSDAP in 1933.
