    Default Fake German Steel helmets

Hi I was asked by a forum member to start a thread regarding fake helmets for educational purpose.

So please post pictures of fake Decals and Helmets here as a help and warning for fellow collectors

PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL DELETE REPLYES WITHOUT PICTURES FOR THAT SIMPLE REASON TO KEEP THIS THREAD EASY TO NAVIGATE

    Cheers
    Lars

This is one of the best reproduction SS Decals on the market and one of the most sought after. When applied correctl and aged accordingly, it is hard to tell.
Here is another common one. The second one is a bit easier to tell. It lacks the metallic flake which is a good give away.

    Default Fake Unbordered Police Decal

Here is a new one that is out. It is hard to see in the picture but it has a really nice "metallic" look to it. Incredible detail and doest have the "stipling" behind the swas like the common reproductions have. It is really close to an original. It is one of the best reproductions out there.

This decal is obvious because it is brand new and is the common one on the market. I have ones that are not seen on the market with different variations to the decals that makes it tough to tell looking at.
I will edit this and add ones that are aged. Typically what you see is fakers will hit the obvious give aways on a reproduction decal so it detracts from it, the foot, leg and head are conveniently chipped away.
Also an interesting note on the Kriegs and Heer decals: One of the producers of these decals, if you scratch/scrape the black background you will uncover either Gold or Silver underneath it.
