    Hi Hal
I do not like the decal on that one. Maybe wrong, but it looks like a waterslide transfer,
    Cheers

IMHO normal ET eagle ( surely another one under as it sometimes happens) . BTW flash isn't good for the liner pic .

John I think this is helmet is a classic case of how good vs. bad pictures can really alter the look ergo the opinion of a helmet by pics alone. That flash glare really makes it look like a waterslide decal but Francis is right, looking past the glare it looks textbook and decal over decal is not unusual for Lufties.

As well the flash glare into the liner makes it look like a repro at first glance but the new pics look much better Hal. The chinstrap is one I have not seen before.... (See edit below...)

Overall this looks to be a nice example of a latewar unissued Luftwaffe helmet.

(edit...the strap is a Otto Gehrckens Pinneberg strap, one of the bigger manufacturers of chinstraps. (thanks to Vinnie of GHW for his intimate chinstrap knowledge)

Doug, thanks for the education. I hold my hands up high

Hal, I apologise, sometimes it hard to make a good call on pictures alone

No need for any surrender John the need for good clear pics, head on for the decals and with no flash glare is paramount to evaluate helmets and even then a hands on is a must.

Francis is also the master at decal ID and all collectors of any experience bracket can learn from him!
