Still down in the South West. It visited the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol this weekend.

This week it will be travelling to Cornwall and the New Forest.......

So, I took the helmet for a trip back in history over the last couple of days (links are in yellow for further information).

I went back home to the New Forest which was established by William the Conqueror as his personal hunting grounds back in 1079.

After his death, his son, William II took the throne and was killed on a hunting trip to the New Forest by Sir Walter Tyrell.

The spot where he supposedly was shot by an arrow, accident or otherwise is marked by the Rufus Stone.

The is a pub just down the road named 'The Sir Walter Tyrell' where I've downed a few beers in my time!

As we were in the New Forest, it wouldn't have been right to leave without a shot with a New Forest Pony.

This morning saw a spot of deer stalking and I caught up with a Roe buck!

And this afternoon on my way home I took a quick detour to Stonehenge.

Apologys for the photos, I was too tight to pay to get into the site and all the tourists on the other side of the fence were foreigners and my attempts to stand there holding up the helmet so I could get an in focus shot were met with bemused looks.......
