1942 chin-strap - original?

Hi All - question about this one:

Original? The metal parts are rusty, even some rust-holes - leather has no smell - the marking is 1942 and maybe "Prag..." on the bottom (can't read the top parts)? Is this an existing marking or a fantasy-factory?
