my latest helmets. (a collecters dream)

here are my latest helmets found in the ground ,for me a collecter its a dream to be able to find such a thing 63 years after the war ended,and to imagine that thay have been lying in the ground untouched all this time in sombodys back garden in northern france where i live.enjoy this .photo s taken out side.

this is the first one a model 40 one insigne,with name (raible)

the second find was this wonderfull mod 35 early single alu liner band. originly apple green was reconditioned slate gray then painted
white,for winter then camo painted .all that paint having protected
it from rust its s.e.66.

by the way the last helmet has the remains of an eagle.
this helmet was unfortunatly the last i found,no 3 .
all 3 helmets were found the same day strangely on the 11 nov.
what a day i will remember .this last helmet was a ball of rust when i found it,then after carfull cleaning (wow mien gott)!!!!!!

this last helmet is a mod 35 apple green double decal dated 1938 size 60 s.e.
from the town of lauter.my first size 60 ,verry small indeed! i can well imagine
it was for a verry young solder stationed in france at the closing stages of the war.

i found all this just out side of my town berck,in the pas de calais in a small village oppisite a church the village square.

no not at all . all this happened by word and mouth ,in fact it was my brother in law who talking to a freind at work who had found a german ration sack in his barn mentioned me and so the story started .the guy staked out the area with sticks.i did the rest,the third hole and bingo.

How interesting it must be to be able to just dig this helmet up! Have you also located any other items this way?

Very interesting that you would find a double decal helmet as well....most were not being worn anymore as they had either been scraped or re-issued.
