I dont think so/ i looked through a book on the afrika corp and they all seemed like the standard leather ones ,unless somebody has seen different,lv

Even the sun helmets had leather chinstraps.
No, though it might have happened as a field replacement.
Heres some pics of what i was told was DAK helmet strap,50% grey paint on metal fittings a K in a circle on buckle and IKA on tab.
That should stir some interesting answers,thanks chaps.
Possibly field made from tropical utility strap, but never an issue item and unless it has history it could have been done anytime and anywhere.

I'm of the same thought that this was a strap off a utility pack of sorts and it was made into a chinstrap. Web chinstraps were not issued by the DAK. Even pith helmets had leather chinstraps.
