first thing i noticed is that the rivets for the liner band look loose...this is not a good thing right?

I think it's a pretty good example. The liner may have been
out - or even replaced. A bit salty, but it seems nice
enough if the price is right.........

Luftwaffe helmets are very common this one does not have a decal it does have a chinstrap but I would save a little bit of money and you could have a lot better helmet

I would doubt this helmet had an SS decal, but maker and full lot number are needed

I read the part about Luftwaffe and was looking from my iPhone. Micheal after reading your post I had to look at the first picture again I would agree with your assessment about the decal. I would like to read the owner description of the helmet. I would still pass.

Found it... For sale is a original ww2 m42 german helmet. This helmet is in great shape for its age, the decal was removed, as was regulation at the end of the war. You can still see the outline, liner is original, intact, and looks good considering its age. Also on the rim of the helmet the german soldier has his name painted, as well as the liner with his name penciled. Great combat helmet overall, and would make a great addition for any collection. Please ask all questions before bidding and check out my other auctions.
