messed with helmet
Looks like its a semi relic lid thats been heavily cleaned, hence the scrubbed looking decals. You can see a line from the cleaning solution coming from one of the pin holes. Its an original shell and I believe original decals as well. Liner is new though, being one from a civilian lid, its original itself though. Been messed with but did you get it for a good price?
That's some decent news. As for the price, I got a whole lot of items for a price that's seeming a bit too high now. Im new to all this collecting.
That's a nice example of a collection of helmet parts in a messed with shell. Very unfortunate.
What should I have paid for just a helmet like this?
A heavily messed with original M35 shell with a postwar liner.
A helmet like this would typically sell for $200 or so in my opinion, perhaps a lot more or a lot less. I think if you decided to sell it to a collector it would take a very long time to move.
Um, not much. It's not one I would have bought regardless of price. Maybe $50? Someone else might have a better idea.
The shell alone might sell for 100-125US$ at most, as a candidate for a restoration project. The liner/chinstrap are postwar. Too bad about the eagle decal. If it had survived . . . then it might be worth US$150-200 to the right buyer.
Thanks for all the input everyone!
