Have been in possession of this helmet since early 70's but have never seen any similar. The flaming grenade badge has 2 wire prongs and the helmet crown has been 2 holes punched through. Stamps are ET66 and 4080.

The thick new layer of paint makes me think of some kind of post-war re-use?

Other than that I can only suggest to you that it is a helmet made into a fantasy piece.

The flaming bomb looks akin to something that would be on an Adrian helmet. Postwar Belgian or French-used German helmet, maybe?
Although would they really have needed to supplement their helmet stocks with German ones?

Many thanks for replies. Yes, the repaint and badge seemed to suggest re- use. The Austrian Police reference by Jim G is interesting.
    Thanks to all 👍🏼
