Gibson, even without a chinstrap I think $425 shipped is a pretty
decent price for this lid. If the decal was 80 or 90%, the cost
would be at least double.........!

You get what you pay for , personally I'd buy one with a better decal and pay more. It pays off in the long run.

Yeah, not a bad price. It's got an aluminium reinforced liner, and it looks to be original to the lid. That is uncommon in M40's.

Its hard to tell but looks to me like a steel liner with square aluminium bales, either way the liner looks good
My luft reissue has one steel and one aluminium bale

I am not doing it. Did some digging on another forum...seller has a less than good reputation. Not going to take the chance.

Mine too - At least it was - and it can get very expensive,
but I haven't got anything in a while guitar-wise.........!

Same, I have a Les Paul studio Gothic. Not the pedigree of the older LP models but she is a sexy one

Here is my fave. It is the only 'heavily flamed' left hand Gibson Les Paul
that I have ever seen for sale in Canada that was not imported into the
country at great expense. - A lefty friend of mine had a Historic
model shipped up that cost over $6500.........!
