Well, pretty interesting work! As I understand he uses relic helmets.
The last one in link # 2 reminds me of my Drill Instructor in boot camp.

I thought I was the only one that survived 8 weeks with Sgt. Battle?
Seriously, when growing up there were lids everywhere and used as water and food bowls for dogs, chickens and just about anything other kind of container. Then I lived through the biker days before helmet laws and saw them dressed up many ways. One i liked best was from a Grim Reaper that had a rams head with horns attached and the entire pelt down the back.
But this is yet the most artistic, all damage considered.

for what is actually left visable of the helmet it does seem a shame but that aside he is abviously a very talented man
