Austrian M16 Double Decal Heer

I have had this one for a long time. It is a double decal Austrian shell, but probably not a true transitional helmet technically, as it is fitted with a pig skin liner mounted on a zinc coated steel liner band. It is entirely correct, and 100% war time period constructed, but after 1940. I have another double decal Austrian Heer helmet with a steel liner banded liner, but the decals are from different manufacturers, and the paint is smooth DARK green combat paint. If I can find it in storage I will post it as well. Hope you like this one. Jim G.

A wonderful piece of history! I assume the use of an M16 post 1940 indicates a shortage of M35/M40 lids at the time?
