Nice Steve, Very nice , could i take a guess and say the semi relic M42 was bought from Antiqboy in Estonia? (the third pic down)Phill
I do believe that is who it came from !

They all seem to be more or less the same - Green M42's. Some he has are a little rougher
than others, but this one is a size 68, and still has a complete liner band and
all three rivets. I've seen them go for around $60 but the edges
of the rims are flaking off.........!

Do you know the story behind these, Phill

I don't sell the helmet. Maybe if I have a original SS helmet. But that's gonna take a while I think!!! :-)

G'day Steve, No i don't know the story but he had an abundanse of them for awhile, it was like he'd gotten onto a dump of some sort, like you said they were mostly 42's and nearly all 68's ive bought 4-5 of him and they were very cheap then i think he wised up and started asking a bit more. Funny hey, soon as i saw it i new it had to be one of his! I scored a nice 40 of him awhile back with about 20% Heer decal but i sold it "DOH" I was waiting for him to break out the "Good ones" and biding my time then he dissapeared!!!

I think you are right about his finding a dump of them somewhere - they all
seemed to be in the same overall condition. Seemed like a pretty good buy,
as they are original, with surviving paint. He must have done alright
because he sure had a lot of them.

Was going to tart it up, but I decided to leave it be and only added
    a cheap repro chinstrap.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

My first helmet was an M35 from Antiqueboy, in retrospect it was a bit of an old $hitter but I wasn't quite so discerning then, he did have a bunch of helmets for awhile, now things have gone quiet.

Thats a Beauty! and forgive me if i'm wrong, but how many people on here would follow that up with, " Well the Decals look dodgy, and the liner pins appear to have been swapped out" "i'd pass on this one"........

Thank you, it also has the original liner (remains of) plus part of the owners name. I can make out 'Gefr' which was obviously his rank. Unfortunately the name faded after an oxalic acid bath to remove the bulk of the original rust.

True, there are a few 'armchair experts' but there are many more distinguished collectors whose opinions are to be valued highly. Compared to the madness on that other maroon site, the WRF is an oasis of peace.
