Blue Division M42 Helmet, original?

Dear Friends, please your opinions of this M42 Helmet, original or fake?, in my opinion is a fake, but i need your opinions. Thanks in advance.

I stand to be corrected, but in my opinion, it's a real helmet tarted up with fake decals.

The deciding factor for me is the wear on the Spanish tricolor decal. Notice how there are scratches on the decal that looks like it should extend off of the decal and onto the steel of the helmet... BUT THEY DO NOT! Also, the Spanish decal is too bright/ too beat up compared to the rest of the helmet and even the other decal.

With what I can see, the shield is a later addition to a SD M42. To me the decal scratches do not look naturally achieved and there is a 'wash' of thinned paint over it to make it look old. Also I can see a 'halo' around it that looks like an attempt to age it to match the helmet ( fail )
Pity, I think it was once a nice helmet!

I agree it has a fake spanish decal,as i recall the quality of original spanish decals was very poor and this meant that they flaked away very easily.This decal looks far to solid on such a beat up lid to be correct in my opinion.I have seen the odd one or two originals of this helmet type over the years and they have all had decals in a far worse state than this on helmets that were in much better order.
