Hi Rick, I would pass on this one. There is no real age to the paint and I suspect it was done last week. Look at the total lack of wear to the rim, etc.
Cheers, Ade.
I would no waste my money to be honest
Thanks Ade, i didnt even look at that sort of thing.
Rick.

i was looking at this one good ole ebay the damage to the decal looks very fresh to me
Yes tis indeed ebay i doubted the decal but put that down to a bodged restoration or trying to make it look something it wasnt, but still thought it looked like the real thing under neath.
not going to bother with it i am going to save up for a ground dug from a reputable digger.

Hi Rick, glad to help.
It is a good approach to think about how the kit was worn in the field. I come at this from being a re-enactor for 30 odd years. It is interesting to observe a mint newly bought item and then see how people treat it and wear it in what are actually field conditions. Helmets get used as seats, and are thrown down onto the ground, caught against buildings, vehicles, etc. All of this abuse will produce a "pattern" of legitmate wear. A faker will either forget this, or just go about it the wrong way with sandpaper or a chain to try and replicate wear. It just does not come out the same.
Cheers, Ade.
