Cammo M-40 Luft unknown theather

M-40 Luft cammo over at GH Wallahalla split views on it some say Med some Normandy it is a nice cammo with liner unfortunatly no chin strap. timothy

Low lot number at 512 but where it ended up to get a paint jobbie like that is a guess ...... but I like it!

Hi,looks like it has an "Italy" style colour scheme that has been waxed and polished to me.Looks as though it may be correct,but as it is so shiney it is hard to tell. Leon.

Not waxed or polished at least not in last 40 + years it has been in collection full sun was out when taken reflection of it I would say. Solider got sloppy when cammoed and some paint ran down into it. timothy

In my opinion, arguing over whether or not a helmet's camo is 'Mediterranean', 'Normandy', etc. is really meaningless. Who knows where this helmet was used? It looks like a nice original camo to me, and it could have been used pretty much anywhere. Nice helmet!

Could have been used in either theatre of operations. Sometimes guys get too wrapped up in terminology.

Thanks Doug and Obkrieger my point exactly cammo's used anywhere they I mean good original ones like this are hard to photograph especially in the outdoor or lighting inside. I try to stay away from them as much as possible unless I know the history behind them. Thanks for your comments. timothy
