Hi, well I hope the story was nothing to do with this being an original SS cammo because it is not! I would guess that this helmet was re-worked quite recently. Just look at those identical tool marks and the perfectly even "wear" level around the rim, I think that area was masked off when the helmet was re-sprayed. They even took the liner out to re-spray inside to complete the "brand new" look!! Still, if it was a gift then it's better than a pair of socks! Leon.
