Article about: G'day, can any one tell me anything about this carry strap? it's nothing like the SS ones iv'e seen, not sure if its even German. Cheers Phill

    Hi Phil, the problem with these is that there was no regulation pattern. They were a optional private purchase item. There was no such thing as an "SS" pattern.

    Thank you once again Ade, so i could assume that it is legit? It certainly looks period, and as in "SS" carrier i just meant the wide band type with the 3 hooks which attach to the rim.

    Hi Phil, very hard to say with certainty about it, as they are simple things to construct from old leather straps, but it looks "OK".

    I must admit I would prefer to see one with what they call a "Carbine" clip metal hanger.
