    very interesting, just think this could have belonged to a very high ranking officers child.......
    then again, maybe not..... would love to know the history anyways

    nice, so if the lids are a manufactured toy, the decals were copys?

    Yes, they were made for this helmet. A period fake if you like.

    I have seen better examples for sale over the years than the one offered in this auction. But at much higher prices.

    I can tell you I paid £100 for mine, but this was about 9 or 10 years ago now. The price of that one on offer works out at £137. But the liner and chinstrap are missing.

    the gunbroker lid is no over seas sales and is pretty beat up has also been on there for last two years or so! p.s ade nice helmet

    Hello,
    Could similar lid's to this have been issued to the Hitler Youth in the final day's of the war when things were getting desperate and the elderly and young were recruited as a last resort? This is only an idea, I have not heard of them before.
