    Default Christmas miracle!

I got this helmet for Christmas and it wasn't too expensive, at some point someone painted the helmet black and underneath that was silver. I was going to restore the helmet and just paint over the black but instead I was just going to strip off all the paint so I did than I discovered something amazing, I thought there would be no original paint underneath but than the original ww1 green paint came through! Not the best looking but I'm happy with it! I'll show a before and after picturesClick image for larger version.

That's a pretty good result, and worth the effort IMO.

Thanks guys! Yes it's a m16 size 62 marked G62 and there's a number up top that says 1018 which must be the batch number, I used paint stripper and a scraper but to bad some of the new paint wouldn't come off

You have done well to retrieve any of the original paint from underneath that black layer!! Well done. Leon.
