Cleaning your helmets

I have the posting by Matt R., but what other methods do you guys use to clean newly acquired helmets? What do you use to clean the leather linings? - thanks!

Hi,

I wouldn't suggest you to restore the leather linings by applying any product such oil, vaseline or any leather protection ointment. It won't do any good to the leather, if dug or dried, and it will become extremely dark in colour.
I'd also not recommend any restoration on leather linings in good conditions for the same reason.

i agree with matt, dont clean helmet or leather just leave as found rgds dave

So, I restore it with acid cleaning, but I will tell you to ask before cleaning...
