Default Commercial M18 "Droop Bill" Double Decal Police Helmet

This one had a few lives. It is a commercial M18, one of the so called "droop bill" styles. At one point it was gloss black, but I can't see any decals or painted insignia under the Police decals. It looks like it was originally green, then repainted black, and then repainted the current matte green, as there is green paint on the cork spacers. Who knows, maybe it was SS in one of its incarnations. It is complete with a nice roller bar/carbine clip chin strap. The size 57 liner has the initials of one of the wearers in beautiful calligraphy. The unbordered Police Adler has a few chips and a scratch, but these are in places that don't really detract. The Party Shield would have been 100% but for the use of the helmet for target practice by a kid with his BB gun. Don't ya hate it when that happens! Fortunately, the kid wasn't that good a shot and apparently got bored before he did any really terrible damage to the piece. Hope you like it. Jim G.

That's a beauty Jim. I really like the carbine chin strap too. Too bad about the BB's but I guess that just adds to the history. Probably done a a long time ago
