    i bought it from a small hotel owner in flamborough, it was left to him by the vet sgt grisdale who was a friend of his who lived down the road from him in bridlington , this is all i know of its history, apart from the places it travelled to rgds dave

    That's an amazing helmet that you have in your collection. I've never seen anything like it. I agree with the others it has a lot of character and an interesting history behind it. It looks like the owner saw alot of action in Belgium and then the Netherlands...

    He did get around some during the War,you got to hand it to most of the Vets that took the time to list were and what thay did.So many of them just came home and put that all a way.And now when you are trying to pull all the info together from some of theas guys,all most of them say is "Thay did nothing,it was the other guy who did not come back home that did it all??"Most the one's that I have spoaken to over the last at least 15 years now say all most word for word the same thing.And it seem more so now it is thay all feel a shame to have come home alive and there pals did not.

    thanks guys glad you like it it is 1 of my least expensive lids but 1 of my favourites that i would never sell even after being asked a few times it will be staying in its little cabinet amongst its friends, cheers dave
