DAK helmet camo paint

Hi gentlemen.
I have a question... Is it possible some of the DAK helmets to have been factory painted from inside? Is there any factory (camo) painted Afrika Korps helmets anyway? Аs far as I know,they have been painted only outside in a field conditions.Please tell me if I am wrong!?

Hi Ves, to my knowledge there were no factory painted DAK helmets, they were all field applied. The only helmets I have seen painted inside and out in "desert" cammo are the ones that were supposedly a post war surplus contract for the Egyptian military, but I don't think they were ever issued. As Leon said the helmets painted inside and out were meant for Egypt or one of the other middle eastern countries, i think they were found in Czechoslovakia and are often called the “ordnance tan” helmets!...
