This was in New York City, I think. It was taken in 1918, or perhaps in 1919 to celebrate the end of WWI. The pyramid you see is made up entirely of German helmets.
Hey Mo, here is a close up of your photo, it was called a victory pyramid and displayed in central park 1919, consisting of spiked helmets which were then given away to people who purchased war bonds, nowadays all you would get is a toaster lol.
Nice thread, sorry I cant really contribute outside of the popular photo's.

Keep those pictures coming..there great. I am also sure I have seen some more modern pictures where the Russians still have displays of helmets all stacked up. The old wartime pictures where they have just been dumped and accumulated are best thought.
