Default Early Double Decal Civil Police Helmet

This is my recent purchase. A double decal Civil Police Helmet. Reissued form a fireman's Helmet as the holes for the comb are plugged up. Does anyone know the significance of the tilted tri-color shield on the left ? I've seen pics of it like this in reference books.

Hi Al, the titled National colours decal is simply an early feature: no real significance to it other than that, to the best of my knowledge. Worn from 10th July 1934 until 28th July 1936.

    Cheers, Ade.

    PS: Nice helmet!

Hi Ade, thanks. I just found it odd that it was tilted. I almost passed on the helmet because of that feature until I found a photo in an old book. Cheers, Al.

Hi Al, the previous two styles were also titled in the same fashion

    Cheers, Ade.

Ade, are these type fairly common ? I personally haven't seen many. I'm sure you have. Al.

They are certainly harder to find than the post 1936 decaled versions.

I would hesitate to call them "rare" as that is such an over used word in this hobby.

    I really like this style.

    Cheers, Ade.

Good enough, I'll settle for scarce. It looks good on my shelf though. Thanks, Al.
