Early Double Decal Civil Police Helmet

This is my recent purchase. A double decal Civil Police Helmet. Reissued form a fireman's Helmet as the holes for the comb are plugged up. Does anyone know the significance of the tilted tri-color shield on the left ? I've seen pics of it like this in reference books.

Hi Al, the titled National colours decal is simply an early feature: no real significance to it other than that, to the best of my knowledge. Worn from 10th July 1934 until 28th July 1936.

They are certainly harder to find than the post 1936 decaled versions.

I would hesitate to call them "rare" as that is such an over used word in this hobby.

I really like this style.
