I think your Right!

Gday All,
Have no real knowledge of TR helmets so I thought I may run this by you guy's.
With my very limited knowledge I think it may of Spanish origin but I don't know for sure.
The only stampings (at the helms rear) I can find 16 over what appears to be 342(sorry the image is not the best)
There seems to be no other stampings I can find.
Any help with ID would be appreciated.
Cheers and thanks.

Looks like a good German M42 to me mate but the leather liner has been replaced but wait for other opinions.

Thanks Phill
The lid has no liner rivet's so the liner I guess could be anything.
What's the best way to check the origins of the shell mate, stampings ?
These critters are bloody hard to ID when you know bugger all.
Good on ya mate

Looks like a good shell to me as well. Looks like a CKL M42. The stampings in the medal of the helmet identify the maker, size and batch number. The other painted markings may be unit markings of some sort. Leather is wrong though as is the paint colour in the pic anyways but defiantly a good shell
This is looking good for me if it's a German M42 shell.I always figred it to be Spanish made.
Any idea's/opinions on the origins of the liner? and the paint?
Pic's come from the previous owner in Holland who appears to enjoy refurbishing.(have a look at the paint marks on his bench). The paint on this lid appears quite old.
Thanks for the reply's fella's It,s all a learning curve for me.

Thats pretty much the spanish helmet right there. There are different liner arrangements but that shell and outside look stays the same
