I found this Fallschirmjager in pretty rough shape.
I was considering buying it but I would like to know what it would be worth in this condition.
The guy wants $550 for it.

im humble opinion,it looks a bit dodgy its lacking the normal marks on the rolled edge.

I do not get a good feeling overall. The leather puts me off, especially the straps. Orange rust here and there, it just doesn't match up. I would pass on these photos personally.

You should post better pics and while I respect opinions thus posted Terry (M38) will I am sure make his opinion heard and should be listened to. With these pics its not one for me either. But Terrys fine eye can spot a fake shell at 1000 yards in a dust storm.

When it comes to FJ's, I can't tell my arse from my elbow.
But the 2 things that make me uncomfortable with this one is (1) the poor pics, and (2) the price.
Terry knows his stuff when it comes to FJ's like no other, as Doug points out.
