Found while walking the dog

Article about: I don't think you can restore that helmet anymore...

Default Found while walking the dog

    Hi guys
A buddy of mine was out walking the dog a few years back when after heavy rain a small slip on the side of the road revealed a helmet.
He took it home and put it in his shed, years down the track and he found out I was interested in WW2 history and relics so he sent it to me.
He said it was in the Ottobrunn area of Munich,Germany can anyone help me with any information of any units or action that happened in this area during the war??
Any recommendations on what I should do, I was thinking about a cool little restoration job and paint job on what she could have originally looked like.
    THOUGHTS ??

Not much left of it there were a lot of units in the area hard to pin point it to one unit

I would not touch it, it is nice as it is and will lose what history is left if you restore it.

That would be VERY difficult to restore any way. If you want a pretty helmet with no history get a repro. Its neat and has a neat story behind its discovery! I agree with the others... leave it be! Thanks for sharing.

As the others said. Leave it alone !

Once you've manipulated the helmet it will lose it's mystique. It is in as found condition.

Just a relic and you have the joy of knowing for sure where it came from. As stated nothing you could do with it. timothy

Cool find. All I bring back from a dog walk is a bag with poop in it
