Freikorps Sauerland M42

Hi,

What are your thoughts about this Freikorps Sauerland M42?
...decal is "twisted" on the pictures because of german rules.

The "twist" makes it hard to tell but I don't like what I see of this decal. The hkp maker is a bit of a red flag as well. Not one I would consider as real.

I seem to recall reading that with these helmets the maker should be NS. A very rare helmet,
& the fact that Spree Militaria is asking the low price that he is, considering its rarity, certainly
doesn't bode well. This dealers inventory is rampant with fakes.

Hi, not for me either, apart from the above comments, all of the wear patterns on the decal are horizontal. No sign of genuine wear/rubbing to my eyes. Not one I would trust. Leon.

The graphics of the leaf in the unaltered portion are all wrong. For instance, the central stalk is straight. The color is off. The border is missing the double border seen on originals. Unfortunately, it isn't a real one. Jim G.

I will definitely not buy this helmet, or other helmets from this shop.

I will go look for a DD Polizei or DD Heer instead.
