I'm not sure they made these after the war, also if they are reproduced now. You are probably OK that it is original shell, but no way to tell if it was SA or not. They did use this type but so did Luftschutz and police etc. Given for free, you can't really go wrong

The 'gladiator' style helmets were produced throughout the war years, it is believed that the one piece was the first style therefore early war,and succeeded by the 'two piece' which was produced until the middle part of the war, then the 'three piece being the later period until wars end

Hi Chris,that's strange because the two piece was of a more superior quality, and the three piece was less costly to produce even though there were more steps in its production and the finish on the three piece and the poor quality materials showed the lack of resources towards wars end, if that's so when was the flat rim gladiator produced and was that the first or last?????

The 3 piece gladiator 1938 M38
The flat rim 1944 m44 but Austrian.
The 2 piece and the one piece beaded gladiator I have no idea look around for info but nothing.
the one piece look better quality than the 3 piece totally agree with you.
