    Hey,

My grandfather bought this helmet for me a while back. It's fairly obvious that it isn't all original

If anyone could enlighten me on if this is a full on fake (reproduction), or a restoration of an original shell, that would be great.

    Regards,
    Finn

Hi, the shell looks good, an m40? Liner and strap replaced. Can you post some closeups of the vent holes and the paint?

    Thanks, Jerry

It looks a nice shell. I wouldn't worry too much about the liner, it's only seen when you pick it up anyway. A purist would scoff at it. Don't let that bother you though. At least it's obvious the liner is repro!

    Hey,
Here are the pictures of the vents and the paint.
If you cant see the paint very well, the dark spots are dark green and the light spots are light greenish/yellow.
It looks kind of like a jungle camo to me
    Thanks,
    Finn

Original shell, liner and chin strap replaced as others have stated and are post war.

Pictures still arnt good enough for me to make a call on the paint but if you notice the split pins are a different color.
