German helmet.

Article about: I want to know if this helmet is authentic and what model it is. Unfortunately I can not see what is written on the manufacturer stamps. //Erik

    Thanks for the quick responses.
    The helmet is from the Battle of Narvik.
    It was found in a mountain cabin in Narvik,Norway right after the war ended.
    Shouldn't it be from a gebirgsjäger?

    It's not much paint left on the exterior of the shell.

    Like Jerry said having the Blue/grey paint on the inside suggests to me that this is a Luftwaffe helmet.
    It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

    Possibly a Luftwaffe lid re-issued as a Heer?

    Possibly I guess. I was hoping it may have had remnants of camo paint scheme on the outside but it appears it does not

    It's hard to say but there could be the remains of two tone brown/green colour on the exterior in that last picture posted ??

    Not necessarily , many Luftwaffe units were stationed in Norway including Narvik during the war .
    The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    To me that looks like rust only
