    It appears to be an original Third Reich period police or fire helmet. Does the liner have little leather tabs in the back? If so, that is the connecting bits for the neck shield for fire helmets. It has been repainted and some odd ball hardware added. I am guessing this was modified to make it look like a WW1 era helmet. Why? Who knows? Theater prop? Play toy? If I am wrong about this I welcome a correction! NH

    Hi Neil thanks for that,some work has gone into adding the horns as they unscrew and looks to be a over kill for film work but who knows?if anyone else has any ideas it would be nice to know

    Could be a Bikers helmet , maybe it had horns at one time .

    Actually the helmet was worn by Martians monitoring the activities of humans during WW I. The vents were used for sending and receiving messages.
