You did the right thing. The decal was a very poor repro. Otherwise the M35 is totally original and in very good shape - itself worth far more than you paid for the whole lot. Nice piece. Jim G.

It is a really a very nice, representative M35 reissue. Probably a DD heer in its first life. The original factory paint is apparent on the interior, and the rough textured feldgrau paint on the exterior looks to be better than 90% intact. The liner is in vg-ex shape, and the chinstrap is original, shortened by the wearer as many in the field were. It is a keeper, and, I am afraid to say, the equivalent of a recreational gateway drug that will lead you deeper into the addiction of helmet collecting. Happy hunting! Jim G.

The M35 is a very nice helmet. My advice should have been: don't mess with the leather. Do not grease it. Leave it as is.

    Sorry.

For future reference have a very good look at this site. Very informative!

Good luck collecting! You are hooked!

Yeah, but I thought it didn't darken the liner that much! Hopefully it doesn't decrease the value that much?

The m35 looks great and good original liner and strap.the decal is dodgy looking though.

Hi, a good collection of helmets for that price. The SE stands for Sachsische Emallier-und Stanzwerke AG, based in Lauter. Maybe just me, but I assume dark red/brown liners have been messed with post war by Norway.
