A cleaned up relic at best. Photos are even worse on an iPhone. Not worth $175 to me.
I've seen this "pitting" pattern on another helmet posted here recently......couldn't find it unfortunately. Me thinks this is odd....

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I'm not sure if it is outside is faked or not, (Todd is much more qualified) but I think it is an odd coincidence to have seen the same very unique "relic" pattern in a similarly condition helmet posted here over the last month.
Also IMHO the liner and split pins are not original to the lid.

That's what I was thinking to michael, but he's happy with it, I just trading that one helmet I posted awhile back that some said I wasted my money on well I just got 3 very nice German bayonets for it and it turn out to be a ef66 batch number 8823 which put it as a single heer helmet but it was no way pitted like this one was
I suspect both decals are bad.
Thanks guys for your input, I agree also even tho I am new to German helmets I have learned a lot from this site, I just wish he would have waited before buying it and had me post the pics before hand
