Re: German military? helmet with aluminium "mohawk"
That is a WW2 period German firemans helmet, 1934 pattern. It would originally have been black with a swastika shield on the side, and would have had a leather lining.
If you do a google image search for 'german m34 firemans helmet' you will get some matches.

Thank you very much for the info, im very happy as i collect ww2 items (but mostly allied airforce so i dont know very much about german things)

Re: German military? helmet with aluminium "mohawk"
I'm outside of my area of knowledge here, but I would have thought these were the same decals as used on field police helmets (the fire service being a branch of the police force) This website; Re-Enactors Field Police has some field police decals for example, but I couldn't tell you if they are an exact match or only very similar. Perhaps someone with a specialist knowledge of helmets will advise.

Those decals are a representation but have differences that are not meant to fool collectors. Here is a site that seems to have a lot of repro decals which are a closer match. I have never dealt with this site though.

Re: German military? helmet with aluminium "mohawk"
Thanks for the tip! I will try to order from that site i think.
Does anyone know if the color should be glossy or satin black on this helmet, now that i know what type of helmet this is i found many hits on google,
but they seem to appear in both glossy and satin on the pictures i found.

Re: German military? helmet with aluminium "mohawk"
I'd almost say they are a semi gloss, but that's just from what I have seen. Here is a link to two on a dealer site. Note which decal goes on which side. Items 403 and 404
