    ?

    Cool

Guess I will jump into this thread.
I've been collecting helmets for many years, but have limited the collection to primarily Luftwaffe u. W-SS.
    Here are most of mine.

Well, the deal went through. Here is my new M42 which has a lot of character in my opinion. Someone who works for my dad said that he found this helmet in some of his stuff, and wanted to know if I wanted to buy it
(because he knows that I collect). The story is that his Great Uncle picked it up off the battlefield, and brought it home. I guess somewhere down the road he painted it black, but the inside still has the original paint, and the decal is still partially visible. It still has the outer liner band, and the shell is marked 2133, the lot number, but no makers code. I have added a chinstrap to it, and plan to add the other missing parts to the liner. I love local finds like these, the journey this helmet has traveled is a very cool one. I am still working on getting solid provenance on it, which I can post if I can get it

    Enjoy, Warbuff

Oh it must be so tempting to release the eagle from it's black shroud!
