if they all have markings i would get them all (got a freind that does restorations). i like 2nd one right, but what looks best to you? (it is your money)
Is there a size 68 shell by any chance? I would take that shell that was 68 (M40, M35), because it could fit my head
havent seen them in person so i dont know?? for me i like the first or second because i like them the way they are. is the green a normal color?]
all the best,
Stefan
Yes there was color called "Apple green" and also camouflage green.
Factory M35s used apple green and 38 dated ET used pea green. Each manufacturers M35 greens differ in color slightly and EF M35s will typically develop a darker patination I find. M40, M42s are painted in varying shades of feldgrau or field grey. Buy ones that have their original paint on them or else what is there to study other than the shape?
Camouflage green is not an original color, many helmets were customized by the unit or individual soldier and used many colors that would either blend in to the background or disrupt the shape of the helmet.
Helmet number 3, the M40 looks to have the most of its original color and paint but its hard to tell from the photos.
At $30, I'd buy all of them.......................!
Regards,
Steve.
ditto X 3
I would buy them all, and then sell me the M35.
I have been itching to restore an M35 for ages...
how much max should it be for each, as it seems they went up in price
