Sorry guys I have read about that photo it was a massive surrender pile in Holland known as the big hole as the helmets were all buried at the end of war. Here while back I guy was digging some of them up or thought he found the pile some of them didn't look too bad when he cleaned them up he had Luft, Heer and a few Para. I can't remember what forum I saw it so if the story is correct it would be Holland. Mine is based on a small pile with some belts, and bayonets maybe a pack and gas mask of about a dozen helmets. I always liked the old Weinard Goodapple book I think volume two that they had duplicate a fairly large pile. I am still looking for a picture of the one I saw I am getting old and forgetful and can't seem to find it. Would love to have posted it. thanks timothy
