The helmet has been updated to comply with the March 1940 order and repainted with rough field grey paint with the National colours decal being painted over.

Note the dust build up between the shell and liner band and tight un messed with rivets.

I like the battle worn crackings on the paint! Awesome- I have the same one and it comes in nearest future!
when i use feeld grey it is almost fluorising like hell
try to recover my m40 it got ruined by the last owner

This is a wonderful helmet too Ade! I love to find these where the national shield has been over painted. I have one very similar with a bit of inter-tube so dried and crack that it is virtually part of the helmet now. It also had had the national shield painted over. Beautiful first helmet ... and you still have it! I wished that I still had my first helmet!!!
