As promised, here a some pictures As you can see, I was able to find an original chinstrap for it. I really like the end result! Tomorrow I shall go and order a custom glass display case for it. I also bought a humidity reader and will use it to keep the humidity at a viable level for both the steel and leather.

Did I post this too late and no one saw the pictures? I'd like to hear some opinions.

Certainly, here are a couple of pictures. I I can take better pictures tomorrow if you need it.

PS: Mobile forum doesn't support uploading of images, so I shall link them from an external source.

The chinstrap was bought from the Collector's Guild.

Reich IMO your chinstrap looks out of place as it does not match the condition age and over all appearance of the rest of your M-40 I would have tried to source a more worn looking example.

Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.

Found a Canadian Mk II Medics Helmet and yes I know they are about as rare as hens teeth !!!!!

Thank you for the feedback! Most people seem to agreeing with you. Personnally it doesn't bother me but I can see why it would look out of place to some people.

you could age the leather a little to make it look more "broken in" for that used look
