Heer M42 Helmet

Hi guys,

I'm in the proses of trying to purchase this helmet and would like to get some opinions on it. I think from my research its a Heer M42? Im pretty sure the helmet is good but how about the decal? Also I'm buying it from one of my fathers coworkers and he has no idea what its worth nor do I. I would like to pay a fair price but his words were "I don't need to get top dollar for it". I would hate to low ball him and have him later find out what its really worth. It could create an bad situation for my father. My thoughts are between $250 US and $350 US from what I've seen out there in similar condition. Am I hi or low? I know its not in that great of condition but its better then the last one I found. Thanks for the help guys!

yes golden Kriegsmarine eagle ,the helmet is M40 , but the eagle is strange with that scratch under.wait an expert from here .

i dont know about the decal or shell but the liner is definately a bad one.

actually on second thought it may be good but it was darkened... a LOT.

im told that one of many ways to tell a fake decal is the feet are wrong ,and fakers damge the feet on decals becouse of this ,both feet are missing ?
i cant say if this is fake or not but i would be very suspisious of it for that reason cheers ian

Pass on this helmet , it's a fake decal.
Don't invest in it.

I don't collect helmets and only a few of them but the decal looks bad, the liner is possibly from a relic helmet and added. This is at least what I can guess from where I sit.
