    Default Heer Single Decal Helmet

    Hello all,
I am new to the forum and love all the great information provided by the members.

I recently purchased a M40 (I think) helmet and believe that the shell and (maybe) the liner are authentic, but I think that the decal and paint are not. I wanted to see what you members thought about it.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
First, I will be moving your posts and creating a new thread for your helmet.
Check for maker's stamps at the right ear and at the middle of the rear skirt. They will all be on the underside.
Please be patient, you will get the correct information.
    Ralph.

Welcome to the forum, you have yourself there a re-painted and re-decaled (post war) ET made M40 helmet. Also the liner looks like it is replacement leather at the very least. Leon.

Hi, the helmet is a post war recreation, only the shell is original.

    Thank you for your replies!

After looking at several postings on this site I it might be a repainted/new decal. I was hoping that the liner was original, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Looks like I will be selling it as I would like to own an original paint/decal helmet. Any idea as to what I should price the helmet at? I will disclose that it has been repainted and has a new decal. Would it be fair to call the helmet a "restored" helmet seeing how the shell is original?

    Any input would be appreciated.

A dealer in the UK would sell this around the £100 mark.
