    My ex says having a German helmet is creepy.
    My mates don't understand.
    And my ma thinks I'm wasting my money.

    I agree, bargain.

    Of course it is theroretically possible that this liner / leather was fitted in the period but it would have to have been because of a shortage and after manufacture as it is out of specification.

    Regardless this will always bear on the way this lid is seen by collectors in the future but the shell itself is such a good one that it wouldn't bother me at that price
