    A very nice historical find. If he is still alive, it would be interesting to discover why his helmet was left behind.

    Info on Radermacher. Some have it in spades, some dont. Sorry - German only

    According to the history, he will be 90 in December this year ...... hope he hears about the find, he may be interested
    ( or maybe not?? as he has lived most of his life free from war )

    Fantastic! If he is alive, I bet a part of him would still desire to hold it again. Maybe not a big part, but a part nonetheless. That tie to years gone by, friends lost, etc.

    Karl Radermacher ended war in Germany, not in Kurland Pocket. He took part of the first Kurland battle and was sent then to Germany to get Nachkampfspange in Gold. So it is not possible that the award that was found from Kurland some time ago belonged to him. So I belive it is important to know where this helmet was found. If it was from the region the first Kurland battle took place it is possible this helmet really belonged to him. If not, maybe it belonged to someone with the same name. There were more than 500 000 Germans in Kurland, so no wonder when there were more than 1 Radermacher.
