    Hey guys
    I have a litle question for you, I had this fake SS helmet, and was toalt the linen was from a fire helmet and it was a M40 shell, and ofcurce they where right But here it coms: I have ben looking on many pic of M40 helmets and can't find any whit this: look ad pic!
    so is this normaly on a fire helmet, or has they ben put on after war??
    It can't be a combat M40 shell!!!

    Greetings!

    Adrian is correct, the M31 liner bands (which is missing altogether in your helmet) holds the proper "D-ring" that allows the chinstrap to be properly secured.

    Neither the M35/40/42 ever had d-rings welded to the shell.
